It features a smooth, hard top that makes an ideal writing surface.  The rectangular steel tube legs feature nylon leveling guides and a knife-lock folding mechanism that is mounted to the back to provide ample, unobstructed leg room.  The top of this portable folding table is made from a high pressure laminate with a 3/4" high-density particle board core and backer sheet.  Proudly made in the USA!
