I have a small apartment and the shelves are perfect for "the stuff" that you need but can't find a place for. The adjustable shelves make it perfect for storage boxes as well as sweaters and such. Highly recommend.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 5 Shelf Wooden Storage Unit:

Edges are rough, gatched and splintery. Holes do not line up so may need to re-drill. An inexpensive way to meet your storage needs if you can assemble it and fix the assembly issues. We use ours in a laundry room / pantry that most guests do not see. Large spacious shelves are great for holding small appliances and pantry items. Serves our needs well but isn't that attractive.

very poor quality. Holes don't line up easily. Screws provided are square, not flat head or phillips as the directions indicate.
passable for garage or if you don't really care too much about what your pantry shelves look like. I am keeping them in the laundry room, but am not thrilled with the purchase. Another, you get what you pay for situation.
I'd look around a little more if I were you...

[...] The shelves were easy to put together and are very sturdy. I am using them as pantry shelves in a small room adjacent to my kitchen. They look great and don't make the room look closed in and cramped.

I was happy to get my shelves. They came quickly, and my handyman put them together. They look like the expensive shelves you can get at Pottery Barn or Williams Sonoma, and just as good.

              Suggestion

              Q & A

              Questions about this item:
Shopper: What are the directions on how to assemble?
Jose E: Everything is predrilled and easy to install. It best to assemble the upper and lower section separately. I would suggest that drive the screw a little loose on the post then tighten when all post are secured and level on the post. So it is best to set it up on its side, screw the post on the first shelve then screw another shelve on the other end of the post. Then move to the next post do the same. Flip over and assemble the next two post. Be sure to identify which post you are using as the top or bottom section. Insert the dowel pins when on the top of the bottom section or you can use the two section independently. Be sure to have a rubber mallet and wood glue because some of the shelve section may come loose. When you are done just check all screw and hand tighten with a screw driver. Be sure to secure to the wall when you are setting it up on it full height. Hope this helps.
David M: Attach the shelves to the legs using the provided screws. The screw holes are pre-drilled. The shelf, when assembled will actually be in two sections, giving you the choice of stacking the shelves of leaving two shorter shelves. If you wish to stack them, use the wooden dowels provided. Again, the holes for the dowels are pre-drilled. I prefer to use wood glue when assembling the shelves to make them a bit stronger.
carmen w: You simply mark the horizontal levels where you want to place the shelves and screw them in, keeping in mind the space needed to connect the the vertical posts.
Su F: There's an instruction sheet that comes with the shelves, so I don't know why I'm being asked this question....
Anthony A: I can't recall if it came with directions (I'm sure it did, but even if not, it's pretty simple to assemble). The shelves and the legs all have pre-drilled holes ... you just pick where you want the shelves to be located, insert the screws through the holes and then tighten them into the shelves. They can always be adjusted later. If you want one tall shelving unit as pictured, simply insert the small wooden dowels into the top of the legs and set one unit down on the other. Otherwise, keep them separated and you have two smaller units. Again, this can changed at any time from 1 to 2 units (or 2 units to 1). Overall, simple to assemble if you can tighten a screw.
              Comment(s) about this item:
              Sally C: It rocks!
Su F: I have others and they're very good; I needed a few more.
Carolyn S: I ordered this for a friend, who tells me that you have the most stable, maneuverable and aesthetic product for storing large numbers of stuff that she has ever found. She just got an order for more of her favorites.
Magnolia P: I need storge for extra dishes and holiday decorations in my basement.
