This product is too lightweight to support 50 pair of shoes. Easy to put together and easy to tilt over. Don't waste your money

Comments about Merrick Engineering 50 Pair Shoe Rack - Space Saving Design:

This is my 3rd rating of this product. I loved it when I got it - easy to assemble, looks unobtrusive.I got 2, because show storage is a big challenge in my family...Then it started to sag...Then it started to bend...And the other morning, just 2 months after purchase, we awakened to find it had completely collapsed. This product is a great concept, but structurally, it cannot hold its storage capacity in weight, and therefore is not as great as it looks. I am VERY disappointed, and am now back to square one of my shoe storage challenge.

Comments about Merrick Engineering 50 Pair Shoe Rack - Space Saving Design:

Shoe storage is always a big challenge for my family of 4, so when I saw these racks, I was thrilled. I ordered 2. They were a snap to put together (in fact, I gave them a great review immediately after I assembled them with my 6-year old), but less than one month later, the full racks are both sloping seriously to the side. It is clear that they will eventually come crashing down - a huge disappointment. My husband is in the process of creating a huge wooden frame in an effort to stave off the inevitable, but watching how much of an effort this is, it seems he could have just made shoe racks in the first place, rather than trying to save these cheap-os.

Comments about Merrick Engineering 50 Pair Shoe Rack - Space Saving Design:

I like that this rack is not angled like most shoe racks, so I have the option of taking shoes out of the box or leaving them in. Also, less slippage than other racks I have tried.

        Suggestion

        Q & A

        Questions about this item:
Shopper: Is it solid? Is it able to hold 50 pairs of shoes?
James G: The unit comes in a box and pretty easy to configure; however it needs additional support to carry any type of weight. As depicted in the advertisement the unit will not stand by itself; unless those sneakers and shoes depicted are made of paper. I used bungee cords to pull the sides together creating tension, as the 'suction cup' clips will not hold the poles in place - even if you apply heavy glue. Also if you place the unit against the wall 'gravity' has a tendency to tip the unit forward. An easy wall-bracket holding it against the wall did the trick. Overall the unit is nice and configures well; although it needs support to hold the warranted '50 pairs of shoes.' Hope this helps. FGB
kavita T: This shoe rack is the worst thing I've ever bought in my entire life. I would totally recommend you against buying it. It's extremely weak and it collapsed within less than a week after installing. I'm quite shocked how such a compromised quality product reached the American market in the first place. It's been like 425 days since I bought it and I've repaired it probably 365 times already :-(( because it collapses every now and then. Disposing it off is also a task because the rods are made of aluminum which probably cannot go re-cycling.
        Comment(s) about this item:
Jenny L: I need organize to shoe, reasonable price, fit my closet.
Melissa S: It holds the most shoes
Tanya L: Because of the quantity it can hold.
Shaelynn Y: It holds 50 pairs of shoes
        Judy W: For your closet
Shawn P: Need to organize instead of having 3 different small shoe racks
