rosemary h: No, it did not smell and it did come with a washable cover and I love it. I have not used my acid reflux medicine since purchasing it.

I. J: I noticed no smell and I did not cover it. If you are able to lift the head of the bed three or four inches that helps most. If not, the wedge pillow is a very good solution.
Victoria V: I bought 2 pillows for my daughter and son-in-law who both have really bad acid reflux problems. They love it and have not noticed any odor. They put the pillows UNDER the fitted sheet, so it just feels like the mattress is raised. The pillow is very comfy and easy on the back and neck.
When I first opened the pillow, there was a slight plastic smell, but it went away very quickly after airing out for a few minutes.

Victoria V: Excellent product if you have acid reflux. It is comfy and easy on the back. You can put it under a fitted sheet, but you need an extra deep pocketed sheet... that's what I use. Eliminates the need to raise the head of the bed.
