The lamp gives good indirect light, taking two 150-watt bulbs. It is plain and simple, though not elegant. The instructions which come with it are diagram-only and can be a bit misleading, even though the assembly is quite simple. The lamp comes packaged in styrofoam which disintegrates and makes an awful mess. Fortunately, we'd read reviews of this and unpacked on a large drop cloth. Even so, the clean-up from the packaging required a vacuum cleaner even after we'd rolled up the drop cloth. But, after cleaning up, we're enjoying the lamp.
