Decorating a kid's room is a fun and creative project that you and your child can do together. It's a chance to teach children how to express themselves by changing their space and expressing themselves. It's also a wonderful chance to teach kids how to make the most of their space by with tricks like creating under-the-bed storage with bed risers. Also, by involving your children in the process, they will feel a sense of pride in the final product.

Here are a few tips to help you and your children to get decorating:

Think storage! Keeping a kids room neat and tidy is a quite challenge. Make it easy with kid-friendly storage like bed risers. Lift the bed a few extra inches with bed risers, creating under-the-bed storage for toys books and clothes. Bed risers also allow kids Baskets and bins can hold toys and dirty laundry to keep the room organized.

Buy durable furniture. Furniture is a big ticket item. Think quality. You don't want to buy something that will be easily broken, scratched or damaged. Look for furniture that is modern, timeless and can grow with your child's needs. There are many modern furniture designs that allow for easy upgrades, and fit into a variety of decor, including children's rooms. Your child's room will undoubtedly go through a few phases in colors and trends, but good furniture will stand the test of time.

Create a play area. A small room can still have a space on the floor for children to play and larger kids to "hang out". Place beds on bed risers to create hidden storage. The beds can also be pushed against the wall so there is room for kids to play with toys and spend time with friends.

Be versatile. Theme rooms are fun, but wall-to-wall Incredible Hulk decor and other trendy themes won't last. Unless you plan to redecorate with every new trend, choose designs that will last. Durable poster frames let you easily switch out images. Limit matching accessories to bedding or accent pillows.

Remember to keep the style simple, durable and kid friendly. If you make the most of the space and choose versatile elements, the room can last for years and years.
