How to Turn a Snow Day into a Day Off

It's almost inevitable that sometime during the winter you’ll be stricken with cabin fever. What sets on your tv stands seems to be your only source of entertainment, which means you’re horizontal on the couch a lot.  You’ll know cabin fever has struck when a permanent imprint of your body has been left on the couch, the steady flicker of the television set has a hypnotic pull, and your snack supplies are dwindling while your backside is growing. No need for that! This winter, turn your tv stands into fitness centers.   Don’t worry; there are remedies for the winter weight gain. Your tv stands hold many tricks to cure cabin fever as well. Getting outside is the number one cure, but sometimes you can't do that; winter storms and subzero temperatures often mandate staying indoors.      The first thing you want to do is to consider buying tv stands that hold more than a television. Fill tv stands with electronics that will encourage you to actually get off the couch. Here is a list of activities that will help you pass the time when you are wintered in, but will also help you to stay off the couch.

Things To Do When You’re Wintered In:

  • Is there a Wii Fit in any of your tv stands? If not, you may want to consider one. Unlike other video games, the Wii fit is designed to combine fitness and fun.
  • Exercise videos are a great way to kill time when you can’t leave the house. Stock tv stands with Yoga and Pilates DVDs just in case you get stuck in the house.
  • Watch a cooking program and learn a new recipe. If you can’t see the television from the kitchen, you can buy tv stands that are on wheels. This way your tv stands can be rotated for views from anywhere.
  • Get organized. Being snowed in is the perfect time to clean out to fridge, organize the DVD’s in your tv stands and organize old photos. There’s no excuse not to get organized on a winter day.

There are a slew of things you can do when you’re stuck inside during the long winter months. A good thing to remember is that tv stands can be loaded with electronics that will keep you off the sofa. Head into spring without the winter weight this year and loose the winter blues.
