Shopper: How comfortable is this chair for long periods (e.g., siting to read a book)? Any other downsides?
Noel J: It is a very comfortable chair that we use to sit by the fire and should be great to read a book. We have really enjoyed ours and use them regularly.
Jeffrey W: I find the Barcelona very comfortable to sit in for long periods although they can be difficult to get out of for older people. Also the construction of these chairs is not the best. They use small brads to secure the cross slats to the frame and I have had to resecure a couple with wood screws. With the hardness of the teak wood I know they will last once properly secured. We use them a lot and love the way they look.
Evelyn M: It is good. You definitely lean back a bit, so it is relaxing. For a more upright position it will take an outdoor pillow. Very handsome chairs.
Roann B: We have found it very comfortable for a wooden chair. We use it in a protected are and do use a decorative small pillow that does provide a little extra lumbar support but it is not necessary.
