I like the fact that you can store two bikes one on top of the other, but we have owned the rack for a month and it has already fallen over once. We reinstalled it, with more tension and hopefully that will prevent further problems. [...]

Over carpet, rubber feet need a base. I replaced the top and bottom screws with threaded rods ground to a point to use between carpet covered concrete and a concrete ceiling. It is designed for a wood framed space. It's a COMPRESSION system, not a TENSION system. There's no compressile elements here at all. Needs design work to ease assembly and adjustment to use clamping mechanism rather than screw-in. Needs to be adapted to use over carpeted concrete (spikes) and textured concrete ceilings. Support arms could be significantly longer, beefier, to eliminate crowding when both sides are used to support 3 or 4 bikes. An accessory basket kit would help too, for such as gloves, helmets, other cycling gear.

Rack does a good job for what I needed it to do. It is not quite as sturdy as I had hoped, but it is not flimsy or unsafe.
