The Number One Organizing Myth

By Erica Ecker

dali-clock2If only I had more time, then I could finally get organized.

Sound familiar???

We interrupt this Space Treat to bring you an important news flash:

THERE IS NO PERFECT TIME!

Actually when I organize with clients, we only schedule one session per week. After all, everyone has a life to lead, work to do, friends to see and family activities.

So next time, you're thinking about getting organized, remember that there is no perfect time to start. The key is just to start while the rest of your life is still going on. Then with consistent focus you'll achieve big results. Ultimately this will give you back your time and then some! Trust me here, everyday my clients, with their jam-packed schedules, accomplish their organizing goals without taking a month off work or life.

This Saturday, immediately after your breakfast, take just 2 hours to dig into an organizing project and then put it on "pause" till next Saturday. In between, go out and live your life!

Space-tacularly,
Erica

What's happens when you can't find 2 hours uninterrupted time because there are two little ones clinging to your legs? LOL I can't remember the last time I was alone and "off duty" for two hours uninterrupted! LOL

Beth,

That's when you do it 15 minutes at a time.

It took me almost a year to declutter and organize my house from top to bottom - but I did it and life is much MUCH easier and peaceful now.

Set a timer if you have to.

It's worth mentioning that the reverse is true: if you get organized you'll have more time.

It's the endless cycle of clutter or the cycle of organization. ;)
