Bathroom storage, I have a little plastic basket that holds nail clippers, little scissors…etc. It keeps all this kind of little stuff together.

From Leslie, January 19 2009

My favorite bathroom organizer is the three section dirty laundry bag that fits perfectly between my washer/dryer and the wall. My bathroom is really small (my HOUSE is really small). And I love it that I can keep all of the laundry off the floor AND sorted for washing. As soon as one of the bags gets full, I throw it in the washer. It's great!

As a lady, getting dolled up is quite a process! To make it easier I have a basket of everything I need to do my make-up and my hair sorted into mini baskets inside. This keeps it all together so that I can have more time going out! (Not to mention that big mess of make-up all over the counter and in a bag.)

From Nikki H, January 19 2009

The best thing we did in both bathrooms (which were definitely short on storage) was to install over the toilet shelving units with doors. Those things hide a multitude of sins.

From Nechama, January 19 2009

I use tall/narrow shot glasses to store things like q-tips, nail scissors/file/clippers, tweezers, makeup brushes, etc. Everything stays organized and looks great too!

From Donna, January 20 2009

I have a nice, tall cabinet in my bathroom with six shelves. The only problem is the shelves are really deep, and not very high, which makes it impossible to get at the stuff towards the back without taking out everything in the front. I bought little white trays in various sizes and store like items in their own tray. Now when I need something out of a back tray, I only have to take out a few trays rather than dozens of individual items. I made labels for each shelf so that I know at a glance what is on each self. It has made this storage space much more usable.

From Nicole, January 20 2009

In the bathroom there is almost no counter space so I used the teak shower stands that span from floor to ceiling to gain shelf space in the area next to my sink for all the items that need to be on the counter that doesn't exist! It is almost like having floating shelves!

From Pia Elworthy, January 20 2009

As with many other people bathroom storage is difficult due to lack of space. I've found that using baskets from florist bouquets under the sink (in a cabinet) to compartmentalize everything helps me to keep everything organized and within easy reach. There are baskets for cleaning products, nail products, hair products, etc…
This also helps to utilize baskets.

From Sarah, January 21 2009

I've got all my hair accessories in a lunchbox. If I get something new and the lunchbox doesn't close, something's gotta give. It's a silly purple lunchbox, too, and when the bathroom was white, if gave a necessary punch of color (now that the bathroom is screaming bright turquoise, it's a nice contrast).

I was able to get over the door hanging pockets for a few dollars each on clearance. We use these to hold tolietries and hair things in the bathroom. A few more on other doors holds extra toothpaste, tooth brushes, soap, etc so we know where to find them when we run out around here.

From Laura K, January 22 2009

I have a few different bins labeled by category: hair care, toiletries, cleaning products. I also keep a handled tote that has room for my make-up, which I sometimes apply in a different room.

What I really need is a genius way to store my hair dryer and straightening iron!

Thanks for the great giveaway!

From Mary Heather Rivera, January 23 2009

Pier One was having a clearance on these small French Country distressed cabinets. Normally you would put this in your dining room to display dishes and store table linens in the cabinet underneath. I found that it fit perfectly in my bathroom to use for toiletries. I can store extra towels in the cabinet underneath as well as paper products.

From Jennifer C, January 23 2009

I have no cute bathroom storage. How sad is that?

Wait, I know - I have a cute metal wall basket with a birdie on it that I store our clean washcloths in.

Thanks for a truly super giveaway!

From Jessica L., January 23 2009

I had my husband build me a really big closet with lots of shelves. It's a life saver, otherwise I don't know where I'd put anything!

From Paula, January 23 2009

My hint for today–I have a makeup travel bag that holds all my makeup–it hangs up so I hang it up on the back of the door in my bathroom. Everything is handy for use and when I am ready to go I just grab and go.

From Reva Skie, January 23 2009

My favorite bathroom organizer is my curling iron/blow dryer holder that is mounted on the wall. You can put your hot curling iron in it as it holds the iron by the handle with a slot for the release spring so it holds the iron away from the wall.

From Lidice Tatis Gonzalez, January 24 2009

A multi-drawer (drawers on the side) stand with 3 shelves on top. Looks neat, and it's all I need to stack it all. !

From Carolyn G, January 24 2009

We have a wall unit in our bathroom. It's grat but the shelves ae so big that I was losing a lot of space. What I did was buy those desk organizers with several tiers. That way I can store my little stuff and not have it all willy nilly on the shelves. I have a place for my lip glosses, makeup, cotton balls and whatever else I have. When you open the doors it actually looks good because it's all organized.

From Eva D, January 24 2009

I use a 3 drawer plastic container. Not stylish or fancy but it serves the purpose Id rather have something nicer but its ok for now. I also have a dew wicker baskets for my make up rollers brushes etc.

From Marjorie Mullins, January 24 2009

My closet opens to the bathroom . On one shelf I store in plastic boxes with lids, medicines and items used in the bathroom. Each box is labeled for its contents such as First Aid, Mouth and Throat, Shaving, Supplies, etc. There are special boxes labeled for me and my husband. I first used open baskets but changed to plastic boxes with lids to prevent dust accumulation.

From linda, January 25 2009

I have an over-the-door towel organizer that lets me hang three towels right near the shower, and it also has two hooks that are great for bathrobes. So instead of folding bulky bath towels on a shelf, I have them hanging right where I need them.

From Amanda S, January 25 2009

The best organizer for a bathroom is an over the door shoe holder. The kind I use has multiple clear pockets. You simply place your bathroom items in the pockets. It is easy to find the items you need because the pockets are clear. Many of my relatives have adopted this organization technique of mine.

From Eshaka, January 26 2009

I collected empty stationary paper boxes, covered them with faux leather or suede contact paper and trimmed with printed ribbon (paper, pens catelogs, pictures, etc). easy to stack and matches decor!

From Karen C, January 26 2009

I had a small drawer (under a "makeup" counter) in my bathroom. It had a small chair so I could sit there in the morning and virtually reach everything to "put on my face"… to make finding my earrings better/faster, I put two plastic (blue!) ice cube trays in the drawer which comfortably held all my earrings - sorted, plus room for extra earring backs, again sorted by silver or gold! I had a few extra spaces that I used for safety pins, small rubber bands, lip/eyepencil sharpener, bobby pins and well - it was so handy and nice to finally have a "display/dispense" area for all those little things.

From gwen, January 27 2009

Is it just me or did I miss the explanation about how to enter the contest!

From Meg, January 27 2009

To cut down on clutter in the shower, I bought a over-the-shower-curtain-rod organizer (much like a shoe holder) that has two rows of 3 mesh pockets. The top row is great for my scrubbie, loofah and sample-sized bottles. The bottom row holds shampoo, etc and the pockets have openings in the bottom, so I can store my shampoo, etc upside down and dispense it without having to take it out of the pocket.

From Janet Cheser, January 27 2009

I have a wire, three tiered planter that I use to keep my towels rolled up in. It is supposed to be for plants; but it makes a different, cute way to store towels, washcloths, etc.

From Arleen McCann, January 28 2009

We have a wonderful little wire shelf we keep towels and washcloths on..also repurposed a metal garden tool caddy for brushes, lotions etc. Has a nice little wooden handle in the middle with two smaller buckets. Matches Island blue decor perfectly! Discount stores are the best for finding deals when seasonal inventory changes…

From Rhonda, January 29 2009

I have a 3 shelf bookcase that I placed against my back wall of the bathroom. On the shelves I have various sizes of baskets that are lined with matching liners in which I put brushes, combs, makeup brushes, moisturizers, etc,

From Tanya, January 29 2009

I have a very small bathroom with very little storage area. I also have a curious 3 year old. My husband put a shelf that runs along the top part of the wall so that my son cannot reach. I decorated shoe boxes to match my bathroom decor and to use for storing my stuff.

From Debbie, January 29 2009

I have a tall cabinette in my powder room with glass doors. I used a bamboo storage box that fits perfectly on one of the shelves to hold my medicines and bandaids. It is easy to pull out and find what I need without everything falling all over the place. The basket looks great through the glass doors too.

From DR, January 29 2009

I love organizing ideas.

From Tricia, January 29 2009

Our "hall" bathroom is very small and has a single sink cabinet. There was no storage room. We found a plastic stackable drawer unit that gave us three large drawers for under the sink. The left side has less room because of drain pipes so we found three small stackable drawers for that area. Between the two units is just 3-4 inches for tall things like hair spray, cleaner etc. We ended up with a ton of storage and it's all hidden behind the cabinet doors. Just like the last entry I love organizing ideas too.

From Sheryl, January 30 2009

Like many women, I put on my make up and jewelry in the bathroom, so I end up taking those things off in there, too. I found myself with jewelry all over the place, and too lazy to take it back to the jewelry box in the bedroom. So, I got myself a few suction cup hooks, put them on edge of the bathroom mirror, and hang my necklaces on those. Then, I took an egg carton, cut the lid off, and put the sectioned part in one of my bathroom drawers. In each section, I put a ring, pair of earrings, etc…. So most of the jewelry I use regularly is now neat and at my fingertips. :o)

From Debbie, January 30 2009

Great idea for bath towels! I use a wooden, round, stand up wine bottle holder. Fold and roll the towels then slide them into the wine bottle openings. You can arrange the towels using different colors and designs based on where you insert the colored towels. My bathroom does not have a cabinet under the sink so I have set my wine rack there so it serves as a space saver as well. Any shape will do and they can be attached to the walls as well. Have fun and enjoy!

From Debby, January 31 2009

My best clutter control in the bathroom has been fine tuned for many years and it really works! I get rid of all the stuff that is not necessary-look around there is a lot of it. Then what I do need I separate into small plastic containers (by category:ie hair stuff) which I keep in the cabinets under my sink and vanity area. The key to controling clutter is letting go of "stuff".

From Diane, February 1 2009

I have some clear acylic organizers that I use. One which has slots in it, is suctioned cup to my mirror, and holds all my mascara, lipsticks brushes and such. I have two other acrylic organizers that are hang on the wall close by. One holds my hair care products, and the other holds my eyeshadows, and blushes. These organizers keep all of my stuff off the vanity top, which keeps my husband happy, but they are easily accessible to me to use.

From Aimee, February 1 2009

My fave thing is the Sterlite Shoe Drawers…We have a tiny bathroom- just big enough for the potty, sink, tub, no room in between any of those items, and not enough room for two people to turn around! LOL and we are a family of 5! So, I have 6 of these wonderful little shoe drawers under the bathroom sink- one for hair brushes/combs, one for hair junk (sprays, etc), one for my make up and face lotions, one with TP rolls, and one with q tips cotton balls and the like.

When getting myself ready for the day, i can just pull the drawer out-they slide all the way out and back in nicely…and then put it back when i am done. LOVE 'em!
