Product of the Week: Triple-Duty Bench – Part 1 of Our Multi-Tasking Furniture Series

Have a look at my new weapon in the battle against clutter at home: Multi-Tasking Furniture!

My definition of multipurpose furniture is anything that does double or even triple-duty work to simplify your life. Pieces like this Storage Ottoman are a great place to start if you’re looking to eliminate space-wasters and get organized.

Don’t underestimate its storage abilities, here’s a list of everything I was able to get off my tabletops and shelves:

2 Board Games
Stack of Magazines
2 Throw Blankets (rolled tight)
6 Cat Toys
4 Remote Controls
4 Coasters
2 Iris Snap Cases (1 with knitting supplies, 1 with video games)
6 Books (2 novels and 4 large, picture books)

And YAY: there’s room leftover in each compartment!

I caution you not to allow a piece of storage furniture to become a “catch-all” place for junk. Place any number of organizer trays/boxes that will fit inside, so you can stay on the good side of clutter control if you do need a place for junk!
