Quote for the Week: On Goals

By Eva Wallace

finishlineThe reason most people never reach their goals is that they don't define them, or ever seriously consider them as believable or achievable. Winners can tell you where they are going, what they plan to do along the way, and who will be sharing the adventure with them.

~Denis Watley

Define your goals. Make them achievable. Believe in yourself.

Have a great weekend!

Quote for the Week: On Goals

By Eva Wallace

goalsIt is not enough to take steps which may some day lead to a goal; each step must be itself a goal and a step likewise.

~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

So true! When you make each step a goal in itself, you get small satisfacions along the entire journey that keep you motivated and going in the right direction.

Have a great weekend!

Quote for the Week: On Perseverance

By Eva Wallace

water-carved-stoneConstant dripping hollows out a stone.
~Lucretius

No matter how small you start, no matter how small a bite you take out of any task - anything can be achieved if you don't give up.

Now go sort that pile of junk mail on the counter and have a great weekend. :)

By Eva Wallace

~Rob Gilbert

Quote for the Week: Successful, not Perfect

By Eva Wallace

imperfectAim for success, not perfection. Never give up your right to be wrong, because then you will lose the ability to learn new things and move forward with your life. Remember that fear always lurks behind perfectionism. Confronting your fears and allowing yourself the right to be human can, paradoxically, make yourself a happier and more productive person.

~Dr. David M. Burns

I kinda think that says it all - don't you?

Quote for the Week: a Habit of Excellence

By Eva Wallace

dress-upWe are what we repeatedly do.
Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.

~Aristotle

I heard someone famous once say that she was not a naturally outgoing person. She simply made the choice to pretend that she was - like she was acting a part in a play everyday. She wanted to be bold, so she dressed up in bold clothes and played the part. When her natural reaction to a new situation was to shrink back and observe, she would jump in with both feet.

And before she knew it, she discovered that she wasn't acting anymore. Through repeatedly acting, she became. We are what we repeatedly do.

Do you want to be an organized person? You've read so many good and helpful things here - you know what to do! Take those little steps every day. Pretend you are that organized person you dream of being and do all the things an organized person does. Before you know it, you won't be pretending anymore.

Have an amazing weekend!

Quote of the Week

By Eva Wallace

desireIt is easier to suppress the first desire than to satisfy all that follow. ~ Anonymous

This quote speaks to a lot of tendencies in my life. Whether it’s that first chocolate chip cookie, my favorite store calling my name, or simply the desire to procrastinate; once I start, it’s hard to stop. Best just to suppress that first desire altogether.
