My wife loaded it up with her clothes and it worked for a few days until the clamps that adjust the height started to slip. The clothes bar would slide down on one side. Eventually, neither side would stay up, so I drilled a hole through each one and put an aluminum pin through them. That did it. Then in the middle of the night, the entire rack fell over. The base uses plastic parts with small steel rods which twisted. Now the whole rack will not stand without leaning. Not a good purchase but it seemed sturdy at first. Obviously can't hold a normal load of clothes without collapsing. Too many cheap plastic parts, and we didn't even use the wheels which would have made it even MORE unstable.

Shopper: How much clothes can this hold?

Amanda R: 15-20 items of light clothing. I purchased two. One for me and one for my husband. My husbands ended up breaking under all his heavy motorcycle jackets.

Shopper: How much weight does this item hold?

Elaine L: I use my Garment Rack for purses as I make them and sell them. I love it and I'm not exactly sure but I'm giving a good guess that the purses I put on the rack would weigh a total of 25#. I hope this helps you.

Amanda R: T shirts only would be my advice, we over loaded ours with jackets and pants and it bent the bar. But it was great until we did that

Philip V: It holds 35 to 40 garments, and top of bar is best at 4'10" for stability reasons.

Apryl A: I would not suggest using this rack for large amounts of clothing or coats. I purchased this rack for a tag sale that I was hosting and in the middle of the afternoon it collapsed. Now I use it in the basement for hanging clothes to dry, which is usually only up to half a dozen pieces at a time. I would say that anything over 20-25lbs would be pushing it.

Shopper: I plan to hang 30-40 shirts on the rack. No heavy coats or pants. Will the rack withstand all the weight ? Will it bend or lean to one side, or is it very sturdy and stable ?
