According to the manufacturer, this sofa bed can be used by adults. When folded out, the bed area measures 54" from the seat back to the end of the pad. The height of the seat back does not change, even when folded out. I hope that helped you out! Let me know if you have any other questions.

This product is new to our site and has not been purchased yet. I will check with the manufacturer about the usefulness for an adult; I believe the sofa never changes height even when folded out - it is always 24". I'll check on all the dimensions while I am emailing the manufacturer. Thanks for your interest!
