I wanted a modern look for a shelf to hold my coffee cup next to the lounger when I read my paper in the den. This is wide enough to do that and display a picture/knicknack at the same time. It's made of sturdy glass & the clamp holder torques down well. My only objection is to the mounting. If you are fastening it to a stud behind the wall, you're fine. However, the location I needed was drywall only and the anchors supplied wouldn't hold. The shelf would sag to the left or right when the weight was put on it, regardless of how much you try and tighten the screws. I finally used two different sizes of butterfly anchors and those worked but don't count on the supplied hardware to hold it horizontally if you're intending to do anything other than display something on it.

I installed 3 of these shelves in the bathroom and they look simply beautiful. Space is limited but that is not a bad thing.
