We bought this to stand in our bathtub to dry clothes that we don't want in the dryer for so long. It is too big for our tub but decided to keep it and just stand it up elsewhere. It works. Not real sturdy but we make it work and I haven't been able to find one that I like better.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Laundry Rack-Steel Construction-Collapsible! - by Wire World - 408501014:

Of the three folding dryer racks I've ever owned (by various manufacturers) this one is simply the best in terms of design and durability -- so I've bought a second one just like it. Unlike another brand of metal rack which is held together with screws and washers and plastic pegs and end caps/plugs (resulting in a flimsy and fragile feeling contraption), this model is complete in itself, with fewer separate pieces to eventually become disconnected and/or lost. Also, the solid metal rods seem far less likely to dent or easily bend as has happened with my chromed tube model.

If I could make a suggestion to improve this design, it would merely be that I wish this model were as long/wide as that of the other manufacturer (though the overall total area is probably the same thanks to the height accommodating more levels).

But regardless of the aforementioned minor suggestion, when it came time to add another drying rack (for multi-load laundry days), based on the design/construction of this model which is still in great condition at 6+ years, I persisted in my web search until I had tracked down the source of the best folding clothes dryer we've ever used in our household. This is it.

A bit wobbly, but doesn't collapse. Does the job, & saves me space.
Is not recommended for heavy quilts, comforters, or rugs.

This is great for drying small things. But if you don't put it together the right way, anything heavy like a towel or jeans will collapse it.

The rack was not as strong as I thought it would be. The design has one rack that extends beyond the rest and when loaded with wet clothes tends to make the whole rack lean to that end. It is also a pain to set up and take down as you have to get under and unclip one of the rods and the same when setting up. Both hands have to be free to do this. I would not buy this product again.

I love this folding drying rack. I used to have a wooden one but it broke. I dry all of my towels outside. This saves me a lot of money rather than drying in my drier. I like my towels better dried outside.

        Suggestion

        Q & A

        Questions about this item:
Shopper: How much weight can this drying rack hold?
kim s: I dont know exactly but I fill it from top to bottom with t shirts, tank tops, thermals, long sleeved shirts and light weight sweat shirts, yoga pants and shorts and it holds up just fine
freddie m: I would say 5 soaking wet thick men's large sweatshirts or a dozen men's wet t shirts ...After that it can topple over or collapse ...All of this is if you balance the clothing properly.
Deborah H: I've had this rack for about a year. It's not the sturdiest thing, but is quite adequate for hanging socks/nylons/swimsuits etc. The thing I like about it is it doesn't take up much space. Think of it as something for your smaller laundry items, or things you usually wash in cold water to hang dry.
Cheryl B: the one I bought worked fine for a while but after a few months I noticed the towels I put on it have cause it to wear, it actually is at least a foot shorter than it originally was.
cindy c: It is not a solid steel bolted rack. It is plastic coated wire, and the top rack fits into a groove, in order to keep it standing. It holds wet clothes sufficiently when it's full, but I would not use the word 'sturdy' to describe it. It also only stands about 3 feet tall. It looks taller in the picture. So it is not big enough to have lots of wet clothes, and is good enough to hold it's capacity. And as I said, the racks at the bottom are too low to hang anything on them. I have no way to know what weight it can sustain, but it works
KIM G: I don't know how much weight in lbs. it can hold. I normally dry all my towels on this rack outside and have gotten as many as ten bath towels on it. I really love the product. Hope I've answered your question.
nancy t: I can't tell you, as I bought the rack for a gift. I've heard no complaints about the rack but I've no idea how much weight it can hold. Sorry.
Shopper: Will this rack hold at least six bath towels?
Lori K: No. It's not wide enough.
Marcia C: I love this rack. It all depends how large the bath towels are. I have hung towels on this rack, not as many as six. Definitely 3 to 4. Use the top rungs for proper drying.
        Comment(s) about this item:
Pamela C: I plan to use this as a display rack.
Cheryl B: I moved in a house without 220 or gas, needed a way to dry clothes, can not afford to run to the laundry mat a lot I am on a fixed income.
