Not a general purpose clothesline. There is nothing to lock the line in place and the spring return is not very strong. I apparently overlooked the warnings about "not for heavy items" and was disappointed once it was installed. It would work well for a bathing suit to hang in your shower or something, but not much more. I'll move it there next and find another product that works elsewhere.

I have a small laundry room with no place to hang drip dry items. I placed this clothes line right over my washer and dryer. When I am not using it, it is out of sight. When I need it, it is perfect for all my light drip dry items.

Such a convenient, easy way to dry clothes. We don't have room to hang occasional items to dry, so this really came in handy. I love the fact that it retracts and is out of the way when not in use.
