This Powell Cedar Chest is finished in rich antique black, with terra cotta sand-through highlights. Features traditional styling with 4 faux faced drawers and pewter handles. Includes a self-rising tray that holds small items that could otherwise be lost in the large chest with acid free velour black lining. There are three strong, durable, and decorative hinges. Includes two spring loaded stay hinges that also works the movement of the self-rising tray. Two stays provide a smoother action for top opening, and keeps the cedar aroma captured inside, and insects and dampness outside. The back panel has full finish. Strong interlocking corner joints; there are no interior fittings or nails to damage clothing. Cedar interior is made with Eastern Red Cedar. Sealed with a protective finish to prevent the cedar oil from transferring to stored items, but allows the cedar aroma through. There are two high quality roller-catches that eliminate the risk of accidental locking and lost keys while still ensuring that the cedar aroma stays in. BIRCH VENEER & PHOENIX TREE WOOD assembly.
