Matt M: Thanks for your interest in this product. This is a new product on our site, and there have not been any purchasers to answer your question, but I can answer it for you. There are two sizes of the Wall Mounted Jewelry Box. The small box is able to hold 24 necklaces, 48 pairs of earrings, and 20 rings. The large is able to hold 36 necklaces, 72 pairs of earrings, and 20 rings. So, to answer your question, it is PAIRS of earrings, though it may slightly vary depending on the size of the jewelry.
