This desk is very well constructed of solid wood. It's sturdy and stable and yet light enough to move around. I use it for my 15" laptop and there is more than enough room for that, a lamp, cordless & cell phone docking station, books and paperwork. With a total of ten pieces to assemble, it went together in under 30 minutes with a screwdriver and the supplied allen wrench. The drawer is fully assembled when it arrives, including the drawer glides, and the inside of the drawer is also fully finished hardwood. This piece meets or exceeds the quality of two local high end furniture stores for less than half the price they wanted for similar products.

This is perfect if you have limited space in an apartment or bedroom and you need a desk for homework, for catching up on work at home, email or web surfing, or actually writing a letter. I don't praise furnishings much, but this piece is well done all around.
