I have used this product and others from the same company for a couple of years now. Chillow does what they say it does. The not so great part is that is has to be filled with water to activate it...it gets a little tedious and messy.

I love the chillow. It works really well. I was worried it might leak but I have had mine for two years and it's never leaked. You have to open it occasionally and let the sponge inside unbunch but other than that it is great. It keeps your head cool for at least an hour and you can flip it over or move it around to keep it cool longer.

I have regular fevers and occasional night sweats...so I was really looking forward to this. The coolness is really soothing and nice when falling off to sleep...I've even thought how great it would be to have a whole body-sized chillow. But by morning, Chillow has snuck off the pillow, curled over to reveal it's pool-toy esque plastic side, and stuck to my upper back and neck. Not only that, but it absorbs so much heat from me, that it feels more like a heating pad by morning. It is so warm that my boyfriend rolled over on it and thought it was a hot water bottle. This makes me sad because I really like it when I'm trying to fall asleep...if only I could heave it off my bed in my sleep.

I was so excited to hear about this product, I'm a very picky sleeper. I have to sleep a certain way with certain pillows, etc. I love having a cool pillow so I thought this product would be great for me. After the tedious process of getting all the air bubbles out, I let it sit for a few hours and then tried it out. I was very surprised just how cool the pillow was, I wasn't expecting anything so chilly. I was very excited to try it out. I first noticed the latexy smell, which I wasn't a fan of. It was brand new, so I just ignored it. Keep in mind that this is the dead of winter here, so I think I probably should have not used it, even though I do get warm at night. After the second night (I hadn't noticed any improvement with my restless sleep), I woke up and had a terrible sore throat, which then developed into a fever. I was sick as a dog for 3 or 4 days and I couldn't help but wonder if the chillow had some hand in that. I'm a fairly healthy person, I'm usually only sick once a year, and usually not nearly that bad. I suppose it could be coincidence that I got sick right after using the Chillow, but I think the cold pillow maybe mixed with the latexy scent might have not agreed with my throat and sent it for a loop. Anyway, the product definitely says it will do. I have noticed that I did have to adjust the pillow after a few hours of sleep because I heated up where my head was, but that's to be expected. I haven't been using the chillow though I think I'll give it another shot when the weather warms up a bit.

I had a hysterectomy two years ago and being thrown right into menopause at age 40 was no picnic. The night sweats and waking up in a puddle of sweat was awful! I tried a fan, but I would end up having to wake up to turn it off after the flashes subsided (chills). The Chillow is a gift from Heaven! It is cool when I am hot and then it adjusts to my temperature when I am colder. I cannot sleep without it now. I am addicted to my Chillow. I gave my mom one and she loves hers. My dad also uses it for the "Burning Feet Syndrome" associated with diabetes. I wish this thing would have been out a LONG time ago.

Middle aged? Hot flashes, night sweats, hot August nights? I don't use it in my pillow case, I lay it even with my upper body and roll over on it in the middle of those uncomfortable episodes. If you're patient and make sure to get all the air out as the instructions say, it works great. If your not patient, then you will only get temporary coolness which is still a big help (then move off it to let it cool down again). My first one lasted about a year before getting a small leak. My second one has lasted nearly a year. I couldn't sleep without it. I rest my arm on it when my tendonitis is at it's worst and get some relief from that also.
