Bought these with the intent of organizing shelves of folded sweaters. The problem I found is that my sweaters tended to fall between the large space that is there from the design of the metal. A solid material would have solved the problem. I think it would work better for items like purses that would stand up & not fall between the cracks

I use these dividers in my closet on a shelf to separate purses. Works well.

These things are excellent. Made useable space of overhead shelves I could only toss stuff on before. The reason: they divide the shelf into adjustable individual spaces so sweaters, purses, t-shirts can be stacked without slumping and falling.
