The Single Shelf Cube is made on a solid wood frame overlaid with MDF (medium density fiberboard) and pre-finished wood grain veneer that gives it a real furniture look and guards against moisture and scratches for long life. This stackable shelf is lightweight for quick, easy assembly and installation with an innovative hollow-core construction that weighs 50% less than traditional particle board. A strong MDF back is recessed, fitting perfectly into the four sides of the unit. The modular cube also features holes and dowels for sturdy stacking. Includes matching plugs for finishing the dowel holes. The cube can hold 200 lbs. It offers unlimited combinations of set-up, great for the office, home, closet, kitchen, or any living area. The cubes are versatile and 'classic'. I bought them for my teenage granddaughter and she loves re-arranging them in her room. However, I DO wish the back of the boxes were white so they could be used as a room divider that looked good from both sides. I bought some cork board and also some chaulk board and applied it to the back to achieve the 'look good from all sides' appearance.

I am so pleased with the cubes. The instructions to put them together were great. I have put them under my computer desk and have found some trays to go inside of them they work our great for paper, MP3 accessories, and just general office equipment. Now my space is organized and more room on the top of the desk.
