I have had to put this thing back up 4 times now and every single time it falls back down. The racks slip apart. This is the most frustrating thing I have ever owned. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS.

This works great! It is a bit bulky for my very small walk in closet but I love it! It keeps my shoes off the ground and on the door. It is sturdy and my husband put it together in about 10 minutes.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

I use this product on the back of my closet door which saves a lot of room and shows many shoes at a glance so the concept is fabulous. This particular rack is very flimsy and falls apart easily so shoes are everywhere. I am looking for the same idea to replace this one but different manufacturer.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

I have similar experience as some previous customers. Works great at first. I have three sets hooked together and have mounted them to the wall with screws, but the mounting mechanisms allow for play in the plastic supports. When filled with shoes, the racks eventually come apart and all the shoes fall to the floor. If the manufacturer would simply enclose the plastic mounting brackets so screws would not slip out, the issue would be resolved and these would work great. As is, these racks are a disappointment.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

Way over-priced for how it "functions". I've had to make several modifications just to get it to hold together and work. First--The "interlocking" pieces slip apart. I used bailing wire to wire them together permanently. The little screws at the bottom to hold it against the door do not stay in to the plastic tabs. Had to anchor to the door with several eye screws and wire. This finally keeps me from coming home to, or waking up with a big pile of shoes on my floor, but its eliminated any "attractiveness" factor.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

Initially I was thrilled that this item held so many shoes and was easy to assemble, then I'd come home to find my shoes on the floor. The lower pieces detach from the upper portion. I tried to reinforce it without drilling screws in the door, as I rent, but to no avail. Once again I am looking at 20 pairs of shoes all over the floor.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

This is the perfect idea to maximize space in a modest walk-in closet. It puts an under-utilized area to fantastic use. But like others I found the racks a little too flimsy. The first section goes on great because the plastic side panels are slotted and fit snugly in to the metal over-door hangers provided. But the remaining 2 sections only slip one into the other and result in a too-flexible connection. But I love this so much that I just pulled out my handy cordless drill-driver and put some small screws through the tops and bottoms of each section right into the door and - poof - no more problem! I am a little obsessed with my athletic shoes smelling up the walk-in so I recently picked up some inexpensive clear plastic shoe boxes. They fit nicely in the rack so I have the best of both worlds - shoes are tucked away as with cabinet-style storage but the floor space remains free and the closet uncluttered!

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

This is a great compact shoe rack that holds 36 pair in the same space my old 24-pair rack used. Only drawback is that there's no place for low-heeled or no-heeled shoes because the racks are slanted and shoes are held on by their heels.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

I was very excited about the look of this rack when I first put it together. My sister even bought one after seeing mine! The only problem was that flat shoes don't stay on very well but I figured I could put those somewhere else.

And then it started... One night I awoke in a stuper to what sounded like a shelf of books falling over. Then a few minutes later, the clanging of metal. When I turned on the lights, there were all my shoes all over the ground and the rack was in pieces. I've tried tape, I've tried nails but nothing will keep this thing in place for too long. I actually awoke to hear my sister's collapse at 4am this morning. We are both sooo frustrated with this thing. The look is great but it's just not worth the trouble.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

This was by far the most convenient shoe rack that I found for over the door. However, the design is poor. The areas to screw it to the door are made of plastic and have an opening, so with my husband's heavy athletic shoes, the rack is constantly being separated from the door and often shoes will fall in between. I feel like every time I open the closet door I'm fixing this thing, and the problem could have been easily remedied by using metal, secure holes, I'm looking for a different design. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE

I was in love with it at first. A little difficult to put the bars in (bars are very strong), but last night I was awakened by a sound (thought burglars were rattling our bdrm door). 20 mins later same sound. Got up , with gun in hand, searched the house, luckily nothing, then went to the closet to find our shoes all over the place.

They were up there for a week, we leave the door alone, don't use the rack much, and the PLASTIC joints gave way in the middle of the night.

I'm sure the smaller rack would be fine, but they have some structural strengthening for the 36 shoe rack on the joints.

I'm taking this back and looking for an all-metal shoe rack.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

I bought this item to house my overflowing shoe collection. I loved it at first, but the sections work themselves free of eachother. Also, if the door is shut too quickly or too hard, the shoes all fall off when the unit comes just a hair away from the door. I ended up using duck tape to secure the shelf to the door in several places.

This is not a flimsy shoe rack! It doesn't rip like the vinyl ones, nor do you have to find the right shoes, since they are all visible. This is wonderful storage. Made to last.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

I was so excited to find an over the door shoe rack with such a large capacity. I ordered it and waited. It finally came - [...] Now, I have had it for a few months. The other day it broke and fell off the door. All my shoes came crashing down on my toddler. Not very impressive. It went to the dumpster.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

This product is amazing. I was so impressed by the amount of storage. This replaced two of those 24 pair box type holders and I still have left over storage space. Shoe boxes fit perfectly on the shelves. I have my walk-in closet again! It's the best use for the back of a door. Wonderful product!

I really like this ...
By holly from Undisclosed on 3/17/2007

Comments about Stacks and Stacks 36 Pair Over the Door Shoe Rack:

I really like this product because of the amount of shoes it holds and none of my shoes get ruined on it. I only gave it 3 stars because shoes that dont have heels tend to fall off, so I have to try to keep those ones in boxes. Also, some of the bars on the lower shelfs keep coming apart. This is quite inconvenient to have to continuously try to fix this. If anyone has any suggestions to deal with this problem, I would really appreciate it!
