Excellent craftsmanship, nice to know that padding can come off with no problems or hassles. No struggling, better than the other lap desk that we bought before. This one gives us better comfort of having the atop there on my lap. Sure love it!! Had something similar before and it made me find this one and so glad that I did. What a great product! I use this lap desk with my notebook computer while sitting on the couch and watching TV. The design of the surface is very ergonomic as it fits nicely on my lap. My kids use it to do homework also as it has a nice writing surface. However, within a few months, the cushion began leaking the "tiny beads" which made a mess everywhere they leaked. I tried sewing it, taping in, but eventually had to remove the cushion (which was attached to the surface by velcro) because it just kept leaking tiny beads. We have been using it now for almost 2 years without the cushion. It's still useful, but it just gets my lap a little warmer than I would prefer when using my computer.

I love this lap desk, it's light and not to big but large enought to read school books or work on my laptop. I bought it for studying in the livingroom and it is perfect. The holders only hold 2-3 pens or pencils each but I only need 1-2 so it's fine. I love the wood surface and it's not covered in some slick covering so my books dont slide around on it at all. I'm very satisfied with this lapdesk.

Great idea, horrible execution. The desk arrived damaged and basically disintegrating. It's made out of compressed particle board and doesn't even stand up to the abuse of being shipped in a padded container. I wouldn't have paid $5 let alone [$]for it. It went back.
