I bought two of these floor lamps for my condo living room which has no overhead lighting. We desperately needed good lighting for reading and illuminating the room but I definitely wanted a stylish contemporary look too. These lamps fit the bill in all areas. I love the flexibility of the two separate lightbulbs with pullchains too. At first I wasn't sure that I liked the look of the finial on top, but my friend who's a great decorator pointed out that it's a cool look because it appears that the shade is "floating". The price was right too. We're very happy with this purchase.
