The "Flying Nun" floating wall shelf is named for the vertical pieces at the ends of the shelf (reminiscent of the character's whimsical headpiece). This attractive floating wall shelf is constructed of select northern hardwoods and available in Unfinished wood or these finishes: Natural, Walnut, White, Dark Cherry, Black, Chocolate, Honey and Mahogany. No assembly other than mounting required. Weight capacity 35 to 150 lbs. depending on installation quality (if mounted to wood studs, will hold up to 150 lbs.). Mounts via keyhole openings on back of shelf - screws not included.

We are using two of these as book shelves for our cook books. The mounting screws are backed into studs.
The design of the shelves is very sturdy and provided built in book ends. They are both completely full of large cook books and are solid as a rock.
