I needed a jewelry box that was not old fashioned and was hip and modern for my vanity dresser. My silver was getting so tarnished sitting out and I hated using frumpy jewel boxes. This is so cool because when I open the top, the bottom drawer slides out very smoothly and easily. Then it closes smoothly as well. Its light colored inside so I can view everything and there is a ring holder. I can carry it around with the handle. It seems to be built to last. It has a solid chrome type of latch. I don't feel like this will break at any point in the future. I just wish it came in more colors. I wanted lime green or something not as dark as black or red. But I do love it!!
