I use this can on the kitchen table so I can easily pop in all the miscellaneous non-recycleable, non-compostable plastic, etc. bits I accumulate when cooking. Then, I empty it into the main trash can at the other side of the room. As a desktop can, it's probably too small, but as a supplementary kitchen counter waste can, it's just the right size for both the amount and the size of the trash.

This little can looks good on the countertop and helps keep things tidy. It does a decent job of keeping in garbage smells too. Unfortuantly, the lid swings from the middle which halves the size of the actaul opening to insert waste. Because of this design, when I shove in a filter full of used coffee grounds for example, it makes contact with the flap and I have to wipe off the top.
