In the laundry room I it functions well, the flat top has just enough room that if I want to do a little folding before taking stuff out of the laundry room I can do that on top of the basket. I can also use it to sort a load of laundry. So I prefer this over the open hamper I had before.
I have 2 of these, one in the laundry and the other store all of the doggie's squeeky toys ;-)
The other thing it stores well is it keeps jobs in the US ;-)
