Doesn't fit most large breeds. Go ahead, measure your dog. You'll agree 16" won't suffice without making them bend/crouch/crawl. Especially if you have a breed with common hip displasia problems.
Would recommend for a smaller breed.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

This door is very easy to install and I didn't even have to remove the screen. I was able to press the snaps closed by using the glass sliding door frame behind it. I have a large and a small dog and now they can go out on the balcony on a nice day and enjoy the weather and I don't have mosquitos getting in the house. Looks very nice too without being junky or bulky looking. Just had to put treats on the other side so the dogs would figure it out. Great value too, I shopped around.

This door is perfect for out needs. We had a doggie door installed through a wall that went out to our screened in porch. For our dog to have the freedom of a fenced in backyard we had to always leave the screened door open. So now that we installed the screened pet door also, we can use our screened in porch year round with a closed door. No mosquitos, birds, etc. Our dog loves in and so do we!

Easy to install and my dog loves it! Other reviews claim that the door will separate after a few weeks, but I've had mine for about 2 months and it's still holding strong with no modifications! My staffordshire terrier (pitbull) figured it out in 10 minutes and has happily gone in and out of the house as he pleases ever since. He's 72 lbs and fits through the large size perfectly. I would recommend this door to anyone who has a dog and a screen door!

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

This pet door replaced another one that was really just a bit too small. I've had it installed for about two weeks and so far so good. This screen installs very easily IF you simply cut little holes in the screen where the plastic nubs (which hold the two halves together) are located. This may vary on depending on what kind of screen you use, but on the garden-variety nylon replacement screen I used, this made installation a breeze. I simply held the frame against the screen and, using a sharp razor cutter, made a little "X" over each nub. The two halves then just snapped together.

My previous door had a magnet in the bottom of that held in closed. This door does not have that. Rather is has slide locks that work, but they're a little clunky. Otherwise, I'm very happy with this door.

One last thing. My door is installed in a rather large piece of porch screening. To keep the door from straining too much on the screen, I made a small frame out of 1x2s around the door and stapled the screen to it. This gives the door much more rigidigy and I believe it will keep the screen from either ripping or becoming stretched.

My cousin, who has small dogs, recommended this product to me. I ordered 3. They were wonderful for about 2 weeks. I noticed one was sagging at first, then the next. Finally they came off altogether, WITH THE SCREEN! I have had to order new doors made of vinyl and that come with the doggie door already in them. I was very disappointed. I definitely caution their use with big dogs. The dog's legs pull on them as they go through. And, yes, I installed them as recommended in the instructions.

We bought this for our Bichon Frise to come and go as he pleases through our screen door. The directions were clear and installation would've been a breeze had the pins snapped and stayed. Despite following directions and numerous attempts at getting this to work the door would not stay snapped together.

I tried to epoxy glue it, but that didn't work, so I ended up using those wire twist ties from opening one of my kids toys to hold it together at the corners.

So, it is in place, and it is working, but I had to improvise and I guess I got what I paid for, as this is the least expensive option for a screen flap door.

Great doggie door for the screen door, light weight and durable. Works great for our 1 year old, 65lbs Boxer. The only problem I found was the plastic frames do not just simply snap together! This door needs to come with some hardware. I think I used 3/8 screws, just don't tighten all the way. You want to be about a ½ turn short of completely tightening the screws, otherwise you will have the point of the screw poking out. Suggest pre-drilling to start the holes and then have someone hold the other side while you insert the screws.
Sincerely,

The Great White Beast!

It said it worked good for big dogs, but my dog struggles to get through because he has to crouch down so much. Other than that, it stays great as long as your screen stays in place and doesn't rip, which wouldn't be the fault of the dog door.

It was easy to install and the dogs love it. I think it would even work in a window for the cats to use. I Have seen pet owners have to cut their doors and with this it is only the screen that gets cut :) I feel like we have really spoiled our dogs <3

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

It really needs to be installed in an existing screen door and be used for a smaller dog only. I have an eighty pound lab and he destroyed it pretty quickly by just going in and out. The mechanism that holds it together is just not strong enough. Couple that with no support (like a doggie door in a real door) and it might work for small dogs and cats - but no way for a large dog. I was disappointed in it's structure and claims.

This is a great concept and it is very easy to install. However, it was installed for only 1 week when it started to come apart. I've had to snap the two pieces back together almost weekly and will be screwing them together (as others have stated) soon. Also, because the door moves so stiffly, the one corner is actually ripping my screen. It could also be improved by a magnetic catch, as it sometimes moves with the wind.

Me on one side with a "treat" and my son on the other with a "treat" - my dog learned to use the door within a few tries. He loves to chase the birds, rabbits, squirrels in the yard and goes in and out a lot - now I don't have to open the door each time he wants out or in! Also no scratching at the door and tearing the screen. A most practical product!

I like the fact that it has a locking option, but we had to pull the sliding lock off because it was sliding down and locking dog in/out or falling off when dog came in and out. Other than that, very good purchase. No regrets.

I love this door. I replaced the original screening and doubled it up so bugs couldn't get in, which i highly suggest(and cheaper than buying pet screening). Jazz went through it in a matter of minutes. This is amazing for the price and better then the wall units

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

Very easy to install and snapped together with ease. Took the dog a day and some treats to start using it herself. Now everyt ime she needs to go out or investigate a squirrel, she's out the door. The large actually worked, as our dog is 85 lbs lab all american mix - and wide like a mack truck - she fits fine. Our only problem is with the snap attachments. They seem to start coming unsnapped after 3-4 times of her using the door. Easy to resnap but might have to use a few screws to hold it together for a more perm install. Very happy and great deal for the price -[...] The directions were simple and easy to understand if you spent a few minutes with it.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

I installed one of the large doors on our sliding patio screen door. I reinforced it by using cable ties to atttach it more securely. My dogs have been using it for at least 5 years. My Irish Setter learned how to go in and out in a matter of days. My Maltese learned from watching the Setter and we also trained her. It's nice that they can just go in and out without me having to open the door for them. Of course, because the door is made for a screen door, it's only useful during the nicer weather. One drawback: once you've trained your dog to go in and out, you can't lock it to prevent him/her from using it; they don't realize it's locked and will try to go through it anyway. And if they can't go through it, it may discourage them from trying to once you unlock it again. So be sure to leave it unlocked all the time.

This door works well with our bulldog. He used to jump and scratch the screen to come in but after 2 screen replacements, I decided to try this. The price can't be beat!! It was a little difficult to install but I think it would be easier if I installed in on a hard surface instead of on carpet.

Bottom Line:

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

This is a great invention. It is incredibly easy to install... I did it in 5 minutes. I got this primarily so I could let my dogs out at night without letting in a bazillion insects and it does the job wonderfully. They also got the hang of it fairly quickly (the same training time as any doggy door).

One drawback is that there are no real hinges. It is just the plastic which bends back and forth making it a little stiff. I would much prefer if there were hinges which I imagine would extend the life of the door. Also, it would be nice if it had magnets at the bottom to maintain a better seal like in the PetSafe doors. The only other drawback is the locking mechanism. While I appreciate there is the option, you can't leave it in the door because it does not stay up in the "unlocked" position so I have to remove it completely.

All in all, though, a great product for a good price. Well worth it.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

I was only concerned about the plastic hinge, but so far it's held up very well and shows no sign of deterioration.
Because our screen door cannot be removed (per instructions) without bending, I left it in place.
Instead, after snapping into place I used an appropriate sized board between the screen and door frame as my surface. I recommend an awl, a mallet and small sharp new blade. You may be tempted to use a glue, but I found it unnecessary as it locks very securely together using the mallet. I then tempted my pups with favorite treats until they popped through by name only. =^_^=

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

Installation was fairly easy, but it quickly came apart. The snaps were not holding so ended up using screws to keep the plastic frame snapped together. I have 3 corgis. Door operates rather stiffly which makes dogs hesitant when using it. It serves it's purpose, but not sure how long it will last.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

Although the door is a little hard to install, it is completely worth the time, patience and money. I saved hundreds of dollars by buying this and then running to home depot to buy the pet screen door material and an hour later i had a fully working doggie door. My dogs (two labs and 3 chihuahuas) LOVE it and it has made life a thousand times easier. My dogs were ruining the sliding glass door by scratching at it when they wanted to come in and go out. Now they just go in and out at their leisure.
No other door is like it! I love it!
THANK YOU THANK YOU!
totally reccomend it to anyone!

Best Uses:

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

This is a great little snap-in door for screen doors. We like the product BUT our adopted 4 year old male schnauzer does not. We believe that since it is not a clear, or see-through panel, he does not understand that he can just push his head on it and get through. He always has to be held and nudged forward, then once the thing gives way- he goes ahead and goes through. It might just be him. I am guessing there are other more boisterous, aggressive dogs who would push their way through, even though it has dark crossbars and screening on it, and is not see-through.

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

This product is suppose to easily snap onto the screen, and probably does with regular metal screening. However, I replaced our screen with heavy duty coated "Pet proof" screening, and the plastic posts couldn't push through to seat into the plastic holes on the other side, even after using rubber mallet. I resorted to silicone sealant which worked for awhile, is now loosening.
I like the door, just plan on difficult installation if you have pet screening.

Our dogs scratched up a screen door trying to get out at a cat in our back yard. We thought we were going to have to have it rescreened until we saw your site and this product. It was perfect!! The tears were at the bottom right were the door could go. It saved the screen door and now our dogs can come and go as they like. They love it and so do we! It was easy to install and the locking tab is a great feature except it tends to fall down occasionally when they use the door but that is a minor problem. You saved the day. Thanks!

Comments about Stacks and Stacks Pet Screen Door - Doggie Doors - Cat Flaps:

I have been looking for a pet screen door through all the local stores, but couldn't find any which is big enough for our 5 mons old golden retriever. It is easy to install to our sliding screen door and our puppy can now go to our backyard without us to open the door for him. It is a big trouble saver ! The screen door frame is durable but not the screen which can't hold too well for the traffic our dog create daily, he drags out toys and his blanket out through his screen door, so the screen around the screen door torn down . I replace only half of the screen, it doesn't look the best but it is fine for every one of us! I highly recommend this product and it is good pice in town ,too.

The screen door pet door works wonderfully. My dog has separation anxiety and we left her outside for a couple hours and she chewed it right out of the screen. We were able to reattach it to the screen after drilling holes around it and using nuts and bolts. Not so attractive, but it works fine. Maybe could be made with stronger material. Less chewable? New puppy picked up on it's use quickly!
