The hidden mounting system employs a patented slide-and-slot method of mounting - no screws, connectors, or other means of support are visible. As the shelf is locked to the hidden connector and the hidden connector is locked to the wall, a very strong and rigid shelving system results. These shelves will not mount into cement or thick plastered walls. The shelves are nice and the hardware to hang them is inventive but highly inadequate. I had to purchase supports in order to make any use of the desk system.
