The product is very well constructed but a little heavy. However, the mechinism to open and close it is difficult to use and if you are not careful will catch your finger.

I bought this stepstool to use in my home library which has hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling bookcases. The stepstool is sturdy, and feels very safe to stand on. However, the ends of the legs are ribbed and rough wood, and they scratched the floor. The legs need either to be sanded smooth or to have caps on them. I would also have liked a dark wood color choice.
