This product solved the major problem of the automobile seat design pressing on a nerve & causing the legs to "fall asleep" while driving for long periods. It fits perfectly between the upturned sides of the seat, leveling out the seat so that no more pressure is exerted on the legs. Relief!

Did a long drive a couple of months ago and found my car seat getting uncomfortable after a while - so bought this gel seat to help out on August '09 trip. Wow! Made a big difference, with no discomfort during long days of driving. Did over 3,800 miles this time and gel seat worked just fine. No discernable wear on cover, no 'settling in' indentations. Very glad I bought this.

Shopper: Does anyone who has purchased have any comments? Has it been used on long-distance travel?

Paul Z: We purchased two of these cushions specifically for long travels. The cushions were comfortable for as long as they lasted. However in less than a year the gel (and there is very little of it) broke down. As replacements we decided to buy a couple of fairly expensive cushions that were highly touted by truck drivers and they are wonderful. We have had these cushions for about a year and a half and put over 30,000 miles on them. The are sold by Spinlife and it is called the ROHO minimax. They cost $225 each but they are air cushions with a very nice cover and a valve and small hand pump that lets you adjust the cushion to the exact level of support you want. We use these cushions every day because they are so wonderful. They are well worth the money and built to last for people that sit in a wheel chair all day long. They will solve your long distance drive needs.

Lyle R: This gel seat is great, especially on long trips. When traveling out of town, I used to get leg pains from the drive. I got the gel seat and have had no leg problems ever since. I highly recommend it.

Susan B: Works great for me! I purchased it mainly because I am short and needed just a little bit of height. It is very comfortable. I have not used it for long-distance driving yet.

Sharon H: I purchased this in June with the thought in mind of "driving" for nine hours. We wound up riding with someone else but, I took it along and it was great! Nothing eliminates the aches and pains that come with that many hours in an automobile.....but, I can tell you it brought much relief. I use the cushion for everyday driving and love it. It is well worth the money.

CAROL L: We put the gel cushion in my husband's truck. He does not care for it, says it is too big. He has captain seats in his truck. Now I have it on a stationary bike (recumbant style) and it works pretty good. It does have a tendance to flatten out quite fast after a lot of use. It is a good buy for the money, however, it depends on what you will use for. Hope this was helpful.

Kathryn B: The seat in my car is too deep for my legs. It causes the back of my thigh to ache. I think it is an irritation of the sciatic nerve nerve, but nothing seems to help.

Paul Z: I bought it for long distance drives. It did not hold up at all. We found a replacement i the ROHO Minimax which is more expensive but a far superior cushion. It is more comfortable, adjustable and is only one inch thick so it doesn't change your driving position as much. Don't waste your money on the Gel Auto Seat Cushion.
