          I had been looking for an item like this ever since my plastic one, which I paid less than $5 for broke after about 20 years. When I found this one, I was really appalled at the price, but since I had looked everywhere & not found a similar item I bought it. I use it to hang light weight hand washables like undies, pantyhose etc. and it does the job.

                Shopper: Does this fold up so you can put it in your suitcase??
                Jacqueline S: Yes, this folds up nice and flat. Maybe a 2" thickness, but on the bottom of a suitcase it would be fine.
                Deborah G: I keep this wonderful gizmo at my other house in Newfoundland, the land of clotheslines, so I can't literally test it out as I write because I'm not currently there. But my memory tells me it at least lays flat, if your suitcase fits its dimensions, and has been extraordinarily useful. I hang all my underthings and socks on this, usually on the porch, and everything else on the outside line. Thanks in large part to this, I never have to use a dryer! My clothes last much longer and I save $ by using the sun and wind. Good luck!
                Ann L: Yes but the part with the clothes pin stays the same. Just the top part folds down.
                Scott D: Yes, it will collapse down relatively flat so it should fit readily in a suitcase.
                Stephen V: The top hook and support pieces can be dis-assembled so I guess it could be.... it works great for drying my wife's bras!
                Janet K: Yes, to a point. If you unhook the top frame it will fold flat (as flat as it was in the original box.) I would put it in a plastic bag with some tissue paper for protection. I love this hanging dryer and use it everyday. It can go over the shower or hang outside on my wall clothesline. Also if you are traveling, consider the blow up hangers they are good if there is a shower to hang them on. On cruises past I took the blow up hanger and the hanger clothes pins as they have a clothesline in the shower. I hope this helps. Janet
