The product would not work. I tried a variety of batteries several times. I e-mailed Stacks and Stacks three times to let them know and never got a response.

We put it at the foot of the basement stairs. It's nice, but doesn't provide much light.

                          Suggestion

                          Q & A

                          Questions about this item:
Shopper: Hi - How big is this light and is it bright?
Bill T: It is about 8 inches in diameter, I did not measure. I have it on the landing going to our basement which has always been dark. It is wonderful. It comes on immediately when I open the basement door and move, it lights the stairs in both directions so I am very pleased with it.
Lize T: I no longer own the light, so cannot give you exact dimensions, but the lamp part is approximately 6 inches in diameter and the entire apparatus with the frame about 8 to 9 inches. It lies flushly against the ceiling, so is only about an inch deep. As for brightness, it is not bright enough to do something like read or for general lighting such as in entertaining, but it is bright enough to recognize someone outside of your door through the peep-hole and to see your lock in order to insert your key. The big problem with this light is that it can be turned on and off only with the remote. After using a few times [3 to 6] , so that the batteries in the lamp were not precisely brand new any longer, the remote would no longer turn off the lamp, which burned out the batteries in the lamp in a couple of days. Yet the battery in the remote itself remained just fine; in other words, the remote battery did not burn out. So, every week or two I had to lug out the ladder, climb up to remove the lamp, and replace the batteries.
Harris H: I was very disappointed. They were unsuitable for under counter lighting.. The amount of light was very small. Also, they were not well made. I threw them out because I did not keep the paperwork and thought it would be more trouble to try to return them than to get rid of them. I am sorry I could not be more positive.
Shelley C: It's 6 1/2" round. It brightens my dark back entryway real well. I like the remote because it's on a high ceiling and not easy to reach.
Kim M: Light is so dim it wouldn't work in a small drawer, non the less on a ceiling or wall.
Shopper: How often will the batteries need changed?
Bill T: I have not changed the batteries yet.
Frank M: Constantly! don't waste your money on this item!
Noah J: They are horrible, do not order them. The batteries goes fast
dale s: They last a long time if you remember to turn them off. I bought 2 lights for two closets and would turn on in one room, that would turn on the light in the other closet.
Lize T: Very often, unfortunately. After just a few hrs of being lit, the remote does not turn it off, so wears down the batteries completely by burning 24/7 nonstop. The batteries in the remote are just fine and have nothing to do with the problem, but without brand new batteries in the light fixture itself, it won?t engage the remote. That means climbing up on a ladder to take the fixture down and puting in all new batteries, then putting it back up on the ceiling every week or so--a lot of work and gets expensive to have that many batteries on hand. It you just use it in a closet and have it on only two minutes at a time, it wouldn?t be such a problem, but to use as an outdoor light during the night doesn?t work because after a few days you can no longer turn it off at day break, as described above.
                          Comment(s) about this item:
Lize T: As a porch light by the front door because my electrician said it is impossible to add an electric wire through my brick wall for a wall light.
                          Chuck T: Easy set up
Wilda M: Looks very easy to use and is the perfect size
