When I arrive home from shopping, I must carry groceries from the garage to the kitchen. I keep the cart in the garage and can move all the groceries without straining. With large loads, I move the refrigerated items first then make another short trip for the remaining goods

Rita R: Yes, it will hold 3, and possibly 4 bags of groceries, depending on what kind of groceries are in the bags. I use this for light shopping. I keep it in my car trunk for those unexpected trips to the store or thrift shop. I have the bigger black one for serious shopping and laundry. They are both made very well and take a beating without any problems. I've had both the larger and smaller red one for a while and don't even have a scratch on them after a great deal of use. I don't know what I would do without these. Best investment I ever made.

Shopper: How long did this cart last? Did it handle a 24-pack of water bottles? And how well does it handle stairs (I have a little dolly on which the little wheels slip under the stair risers on the way to my 2n floor condo - so the dolly's impossible to use on the stairs.)

Shopper: How many plastic bags of food can this carry?

Martha L: I have this cart and a larger one. This definitely has a purpose when I want a "smaller footprint" but is certainly holds less volume. It really holds quite a bit of the plastic grocery bags filled with an average load I would say about 9 would fill it to the top. Also you can tilt it and pull it as an option. These carts are wonderful but I wish they made a better quality model. I use my larger one a lot and have had to replace it every several years due to worn-out/broken parts.
