The description states this unit can hold up to 1750 lbs. I find that really hard to believe since the shelves are just 2 or 3 steps above foil paper. Ok....maybe a little above foil paper...but not much. I had intended to use them to hold kitchen appliances I dont use on a regular basis. But some of the corners on the shelves were bent before we took them out the box. It took nothing to bend them back in place. But at that point I didn't want to use it for it's intented purpose for fear that the shelves would break from the stress of the weight. If you want to use them for something ultra light weight, you should be fine. But I would look to other more heavy weight units for anything beyond storing say a few magazines.

This is a very sturdy shelve that holds quite a few cans in limited space. WE have it in a closet under the stairs. It was difficult to assemble, but worth it for the price.
