If I weren't married to a handyman with his own table saw, trimming this spice-drawer organizer would've been more trouble than it's worth. Since it's promoted as trimmable, it should be EASILY trimmable but isn't.

Attached photo:
• Shallow drawers like mine may require laying some items on their sides.
• The trimmed-off section might be useful in another drawer. I keep various items on-top-of and underneath it.

Doesn't quite use up all the drawer space and the shelf in the very back is only useful for the tiny containers otherwise you can't get to them. Overall, it was more stylish than the plastic version and much easier to use than some of the 'custom' options. Just wish it wasn't so expensive!

For those who complain that they cannot store certain type bottles, it is most likely because they didn't read the instructions given at the order site thas side the internal dimensions of the drawer must be 2 and 3/4 inches. Otherwise, you are going to be limited as to what you can store. Just requires a bit of reading. [*]

The product was well described in the ad I reviewed. It was easy to modify to exactly fix my drawer, and it provides space to accomodate all our spices. Great product for the price. I am planning to give one to my son and daughter-in-law for their new house.

Shopper: Are you able to cut this product? My drawer is wider than the dimensions, so I would need to get two and cut one of them to make it fit.

Gia G: I had to cut mine to make it fit lengthwise in my pull-out draw. It's made of a hard plastic so it can be cut, not exactly easy, but it can be cut. It was a lot easier for me to cut it because I was just cutting off the extra length at the back and not cutting each actual level the spice jars sit on. But I'd have to say, yes, it can be done.

Jill C: Dear Teresa, My drawer was too wide, so my husband cut it with a band saw to the right size. Accurate measuring and marking are essential. If you are buying two for a larger drawer, I think you could place one on top of the other and skip the cutting all together. I like this product for keeping spices neat and easy to locate. Jill

DONNA I: I did not try to cut mine, but I do love it.

Sandra R: According to the advertisements you are supposed to be able to cut the spice drawer insert. However, after looking at it I think it would be quite difficult and would not turn out very well.

Jo A: It can be cut but it was not easy

Beverly M: My husband said it looks like it could be cut for width but it is heavy gauge plastic so you would need something like maybe tinsnips.

Susan Y: You cannot use a scissors to cut. If you have a saw that cuts hard plastic, then you can cut. My husband did cut ours because it was a little too deep. However, it still didn't work because once I put the spice bottles on the rack, they were too high for the drawer to close. I thought I'd measured correctly.

Shirley S: It would be possible to cut it, but I think you would have to use some type of power saw. It's fairly thick plastic. I have to say that this is a very useful product - I can find my spices much more easily than before.

Laura S: You can cut with some difficulty (using regular scissors or a kitchen knife). I sort of ended up more breaking mine off to fit.

Melinda C: I cut the back section of mine (i.e., across the top) using a metal straight edge and a utility knife. Took about 4 passes to get through the material. That was very easy, because it was flat. I think it would be harder to do it in the direction you mention, but I'm sure it would be possible with a good pair of kitchen shears or, worst case, tin snips. Also, these ARE just thin plastic, so they could overlap to fit the drawer without much trouble.
