We had one of these when I was a kid in the fifties. Found a very good one from another company a few years ago but they do not carry the paper rolls! This one from Stacks is very good, smaller than the one I have had, which is fine, BUT the magnet is weak so it won't stay on the fridge unless you don't write on it.
I am using up the paper roll on the old one after which I will see if I can get the magnet out of it and put it in the new one. If not, I'll still tinker with it to make it work because I like the usefulness of it so much.
I am sure it would do fine if you put it into the doorjamb or wall, but I don't want to.

Haven't had it long enough to know how it will hold up. The tiny magnet they sent wasn't strong enough to hold it on the frig, luckily I had a nice magnet that I have holding it from the bottom. It says no hardware included, mine did. I'm hoping it holds up, because it would be nice to write things down as I run out, instead of sitting down every week racking my brain or going through the pantry.
