I bought this for my husband as a Christmas gift because his ties were hanging on the hanger rod and constantly falling off. When it came, I had to put the hook into the hanger, and at first I didn't think it would go. I just had to push a bit harder to get it started and it went just fine. I haven't had any problem with it coming loose. The hanger looks very nice. The ties do not fall off of it. We are overall pleased and feel that this tie hanger will last a long time.
