Comments about Polder, Inc. Step Ladder - 2 Step by Polder:

I'm short and use this stool to reach the top shelves in my kitchen. Our home is small and we have limited storage space so this stool is ideal. Folded it fits between my washer and dryer, completely out of the way and out of sight. It's very sturdy but light weight, easy to carry. I love it!

We use it to get up to the top bunk in our campmobile van. It is great because we have so little storage space in our camper!

      Best Uses

      • Reach High Shelves

Comments about Polder, Inc. Step Ladder - 2 Step by Polder:

It takes only a bit of space when folded, and it's really a convenient "gotta reach it quickly" stepladder; the downside is that the top step rocks a bit when you step on it, and the "locking" mechanism seems tentative -- there's no "click": the locking hinge just sort of drops over a pintype protrusion. But, if you remember not to get too aggressive with it, and remember not to totally rely on it for stability, it's okay. Hmm ... this review sounds more negative than intended, but it's still accurate.

      Polder Step Stool, Great Product

      By Jasen Higgins

Comments about Polder, Inc. Step Ladder - 2 Step by Polder:

Small, light and compact yet sturdy and versatile, this step stool is great for the kitchen, garage, front hall or wherever you need that extra bit of reach. Folds up really tight so it can be tucked out of the way when not in use. It looks like the same one that's available at Sur La Table for over twice the price.

Compact, Sturdy and Easy to use

Best deal for the money. Folds up easy. We use it in the kitchen to reach high places, it folds up and slides easily in next to the refrigerator. Stool is sturdy, and does not slip on the floor when opened up. Great Product.

      Suggestion

      Q & A

      Questions about this item:
Shopper: Would this work for an elderly person getting into a SUV?
Tracy B: I think it would work. One drawback might be trying to reach out of the vehicle to fold it up. The little plastic lever used to close the stool sometimes is not really easy to use and the stool can fold very quickly possibly pinching fingers. I use this stool in the house and find it pretty handy, I just watch my fingers when closing it. It feels pretty sturdy when in use.
Angelene C: Leonard, I don't think I would recommend this stool for an elderly person. While the height might be perfect for getting into a higher vehicle, I don't think the stool is stable enough for someone with limited balance (specifically, the bottom step has a bit of a wobble to it). In addition, the 'run' of the step isn't very deep- the upper step hangs over the lower one quite a bit which is likely to trip up even the most agile person. I'm sorry that I don't have a good recommendation to offer instead of this stool, I hope you find something that works for you. Cheers! -A
