Shannon K: It can be placed closer to a wall than a round umbrella, the base will fit into an outdoor end table I am buying that has a hole for the umbrella post, and I can place a chair on either side closer to the wall that if I had purchased a round umbrella. I also like the softer color of yellow rather than red or green, which could overpower the other colorson my deck. Also, the price was good. I would not have bought it had it been priced much higher.
