There are truly no fingerprints on the silver! It glides open and closed easily, without catching or any need to force it open. It may be a little large for some folks' counters, but I always have more than one loaf of bread to store, so it's perfect for that. Very nice breadbox!

We have been looking for sometime for a way to orgainize our bread products on the counter top since it was a mess with breads in plastic wrap. Then I came across this product by hunting the web. It is great and the finger proof stainless steel finish is grand. Now our Yellow Lab won't be able to find loaves of bread to take off the counter and devour any more. This actually keeps bread fresh MUCH longer than I expected! We don't eat bread very often, and used to keep it in the freezer because of this, but now I find the loaf quite toaster-ready by just sliding open the stylish door to the bread box!
