Until now, they have always come pre-assembled. Now the purchaser must do the work. I'm pretty handy around the house; it took me about 45 minutes to assemble each one of these. I love the look and flexibility of these shelves -- but be prepared for some work with Allen wrench and screwdriver....!  Pros

Comments about Winsome Trading Company Stackable Folding Bookcase - 3 Shelves: I'm 62, and have put together at least my share of SAR furniture. I like the design of these shelves; it's simple, sturdy, good finish, and good attention to detail -- plus they're very well packaged, padded and banded, not a scratch on them. They stack well: the curved foot fits snugly atop the curved top, and then a strap at the back locks them in place. The only tools you need are: scissors and a Phillips-head screwdriver. The only tricky part of assembly is in attaching the shelves; it will take a little patience, but can be done by beginners. It can help to have a third or even fourth hand to hold things in place, but I did it alone, no problem. The first one took me a little over an hour to assemble, the other two less than that. -- We bought three, have two stacked, and would certainly buy again, should the need (and space) arise. Pros

Comments about Winsome Trading Company Stackable Folding Bookcase - 3 Shelves: This is a great shelving unit, and works well in my daughter's small bedroom because it does not take up much room. Blends perfectly with her furniture. Only drawback is I had purchased one of these bookcases a couple years back, and now this unit is a large size, so I no longer have the option to stack them one on top of the other. Older unit was a bit on the small side, though, and this one provides more storage without taking up much more room. Pros
