It takes only a bit of space when folded, and it's really a convenient "gotta reach it quickly" stepladder; the downside is that the top step rocks a bit when you step on it, and the "locking" mechanism seems tentative -- there's no "click": the locking hinge just sort of drops over a pintype protrusion. But, if you remember not to get too aggressive with it, and remember not to totally rely on it for stability, it's okay. Hmm ... this review sounds more negative than intended, but it's still accurate.

Small, light and compact yet sturdy and versatile, this step stool is great for the kitchen, garage, front hall or wherever you need that extra bit of reach. Folds up really tight so it can be tucked out of the way when not in use. It looks like the same one that's available at Sur La Table for over twice the price.
