I have one on my nightstand that I use for reading. I equipped it with a 3-level, touch pad switch, so I can use it dim at night, or brighten it up for reading or just more light. I usually use fluorescents around the house, but the halogens are great when you want to be able to use a dimmer. This is classy, little lamp that is a smaller version of the classic architect's lamp, and I like it very much. I will probably buy another one for the other side of the bed.
