I wanted a way to store all my sharp knives in an eye-level cabinet out of the way of my toddler grandchildren. I feel much safer now that the knives are not scattered in several drawers that toddlers could reach.

I love this product. I had a cabinet knife block and numerous other knives in trays and baskets in a drawer-messy,hard to find what I wanted, not to mention dangerous. I still have my decorative knife block with my most used knives right next to my cooking prep area, but store all the others, including 16 steak knives and about 20 other knives safely and neatly in this. I put it in a drawer with a child lock on it so it's handy but safe from the kids. If I was using it on counter or something I would want something prettier but it's perfect for in a drawer. Love all the room and the sliding top tray so I can easily get whatever I need out of the bottom tray. My drawers aren't wide enough to use the side pull out trays, but works just fine with them shoved in, and there is enough space between the two layers of knives to lay other sharp objects like the ice pick, peelers, etc. where they are safely stored as well. If I had more knives I would buy another, and several people visiting my home have seen it and asked where I got it because they liked it so much.
