This 5 in 1 Heating and Cooling Unit s an all in one comfort appliance for the home. A remote control offers the ultimate in convenience! Important: This is NOT an air conditioner. This item is not returnable. Eliminate the need for multiple appliances with this 5-in-1 unit, which serves as an air cooler, air purifier, humidifier, fan and heater. The evaporative air cooler and the humidifier functions use regular tap water - so simple! This air appliance features an activated carbon filter and advanced honeycomb filter for more efficient cooling. The 12 Liter (25 Pint) water tank is removable for easy cleaning. An ultrasonic humidifier features humidistat to set room relative humidity. PLEASE NOTE: An air cooler or evaporative cooler uses water and evaporative cooling to produce cooler than room temperature airstream and it does not lower the temperature in a room. Additionally, you must add water or ice to an air cooler for maximum effectiveness, and they do not need to be vented. Please note that an air cooler is not an air conditioner and it works like a fan and does not lower ambient temperature. Comments about Whynter Innovations 5 in 1 Heating and Cooling Unit - by Whynter HAC-100S: Good concept that is well executed. It is not an air conditioner but cools surprisingly well. My personal favorite is the humidistat feature that controls your preferred level of humidity in the room. Absolutely essential during winter when the air is dry. I did some research and found that it has something that is called a honeycomb filter that improves the cooling rate and also filter particulates out of the air. This combined with the humidity control is perfect during allergy season. Not sure if it's this air cooler but I'm sneezing considerably less! Very very pleased so far.
